It would be nice to have a Harvest Festival Parade without having to impact neighborhoods with a carnival to pay for it. I believe that it would be less cost to the city to finance the Harvest Festival Parade than have impacts to the commerce of existing businesses, and to the peace of residential neighborhoods caused by raising funds through Carnivals and their associated impacts to our police and fire departments. Perhaps you could even work with the county and other cities to have a County Fair if people really want it.

The holiday market was a great idea, hopefully it grows a bit next year ( someone else suggested gluhwein and I think that would be great/ roasted almonds? ) . A New Year's day activity would be fun . Trick or Treating in Olde Town. A Thanksgiving turkey trot 5K run/walk that supports the food bank (there used to be something that started /ended at Stenger that was great) .

I wish there were some parades that we could take the kids to. They've never been to one and I'd love to give them that experience in our city. I hope we can get a new tree for tree lighting, we were so sad that the old one was blown down. My kids are too young for the fireworks so far, but hopefully soon we'll be able to stay up that late.

Christmas and we support a state ban on fireworks use on residential properties that occupy less than 10 acres with mount special permits. My freedom that was fought for and the uninvited reminder of experiences with ied’s is not worth 30 minutes of others pleasure, especially not every day and night from june 1st to July 30th. That is. One night a year or every day on your property in mountains or woods expressing your freedom and not impacting others…well have at it but fireworks in the metro area is an infringement on others freedoms to an epic proportion and needs to stop. We can do this as a community, kids can sparklers and snakes and little flames but stop the sales to public of anything else and have 3-4 amazing large shows for 2-3 days around the area and call it good that’s more than enough and what a lot people in this country get enjoy and celebrate.

Definitely keep the 4th of July fireworks and celebration at Stenger. And we do love driving around and looking at the holiday lights. Does the City promote those addresses on their website? I've always found them on NextDoor. Sadly, we have not participated in many of the fun events, and we need to because they really make our community an inviting place to live. I would say one reason we don't go to Olde Town is the parking and congestion. It would be helpful for these events for the City to arrange parking in nearby shopping lots (52nd & Wads) and have buses to bring people in, or at the RTD lot. I guess I should look at the light rail and see if we could do that. I truly appreciate the creative events that are offered and think they are a value-add to living in Arvada. Thank you.

Christmas in Arvada is fun, with snow falling against all the historic shops. Too bad it is usually ruined by parking and RTD's unwillingness to put a bus line to five parks in.

We enjoy most holidays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, St Patricks Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, and Veterans Day. We've lived in Arvada for over 17 years and enjoy the Christmas holiday and regularly attend the Ole Golden Candle Light Walk (and the Christmas Lights) it's a great tradition in our family, the kids enjoy walking, singing and hanging with friends and family. Christmas Eve we love to go to Winter Park and watch Santa and Mrs. Clause ski down the mountain while we drink hot toddies and sing Christmas Carols at the base as the fireworks go off over the mountain. We annually participate in the Wreaths Across America Day and lay Christmas wreaths to honor veterans at Ft Logan Cemetery in Denver. We enjoy participating in the Turkey Trot at Wash Park on Thanksgiving Morning. We use to run the Boulder Boulder on Memorial Day. 4th of July at the pool at Rolling Hills and watching the fireworks from the golf course.

The Fourth of July is my favorite. The City of Arvada needs to allow the setting off of fireworks in neighborhoods as a show of our freedoms and patriotic rights and love for America.

We enjoy having treak or treaters. During the December-January holidays season we spend many evenings walking around at night looking at holiday lights on residences. Every year we buy goods from Rheinlanders and Das Meyer. We are looking forward to Halloween and Christmas.

Loved the tree lighting but the guy that did the singning was awful. We had children that wanted to do a sing-along but couldn't follow him.
