Consultation has concluded.
The City team and Dig Studio are developing the 20-year plan for Olde Town Arvada Olde Town is the heart of the Arvada community and an important place for residents and visitors to gather, shop, dine, and socialize. In 2021 the City of Arvada was awarded funding from the American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) to conduct a planning effort that will make recommendations for improvements to Olde Town in order to ensure it remains a welcoming environment for years to come.
The City is partnering with landscape architecture and planning firm Dig Studio to move this effort forward by studying the impacts of pedestrian-oriented road closures and creating a Strategic Reinvestment Plan for all of Olde Town Arvada. Our goal is to sustain positive momentum and provide direction and guidance for future revitalization efforts.
Here’s how the community has influenced the development of the plan up to this point in time The effort to create an Olde Town Arvada Strategic Reinvestment Plan is in its final phase. The City of Arvada began the long-range planning effort for the future of Olde Town in June 2022 and has requested community feedback through various surveys and events throughout the duration of the process.
Most recently, the City’s project team hosted an open house this past March 2023 and a survey on Speak Up Arvada from March 8 to April 5 where we asked the community to share their preferences and comments on the draft design concepts for Olde Town Arvada. These community engagement efforts provided the opportunity for community members to share their input on the plans prior to the project team presenting the draft plans and recommendations to City Council this spring.
Thank you for your continued support for this project and helping shape the future of Olde Town Arvada! The project team is now reviewing feedback they receiving from the City Council on May 8. Once the project team has incorporated the City Council's feedback into the plan, there will there will be a 30-day public comment period on the draft plan, tentatively scheduled for June 2023 (stay tuned). The City Council will then adopt the final plan.
