Take a neighborhood inventory of who has what during an emergency
I have read where neighbors have created a list of emergency skills, items, etc. such as who knows how to shut off utility mains, who has a gas generator, who has medical skills, who has flotation devices or small boats--stuff like that, so that if a catastrophe occurred (God forbid), neighbors could launch an emergency plan.

more block parties or neighborhood specific events
I would love to see more neighborhood block parties or other types of events that target specific sections of town. I think my neighborhood might have had a block party but it wasn't very well publicized. I think the city could help with advertising and outreach about neighborhood events.
